BSM Valves is specialised in the production of customer specific valves. In addition, BSM works closely with sister company Mogema BV, both part of the listed Aalberts N.V. within the group Aalberts advanced mechatronics. We were originally active in the chemical, petrochemical and offshore industries and have a production unit in Breda from where we supply our customers worldwide. For Mogema, a high-tech expert in welding processes and vacuum technology, we now also produce complex vacuum chambers. At BSM we work with an enthusiastic team of about 55 employees in an informal atmosphere. With the expansion of the product lines, we are investing in our machinery and our people.

your future role
As a team lead purchase & supply chain you stimulate the continuity of the organisation. You do this by ensuring good supplier management for the production of valves at the most beneficial conditions. In addition to your own purchasing tasks, you are responsible for the daily management of the purchasing department and the work preparation department.

Both departments have a major impact on the operating result. Where possible, you apply further professionalization and are not afraid to explore new possibilities in order to achieve higher profitability. As a team lead purchase & supply chain you report directly to the management.

The following elements are part of your daily work, among others:

  • requesting and comparing quotations, placing purchase orders and maintaining contacts with suppliers and subcontractors
  • monitoring current orders and agreed delivery times
  • provide insight into the materials planning and take action to suppliers on its assurance
  • adjust in time so that the customer will still meet the conditions
  • registering the delivery reliability of suppliers
  • entering bills of materials into the production order in our ERP system (Ridder)
  • linking the basic material to the production parts using Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) and Valve data sheets (VDS)
  • all activities related to the continuity of the production process and to support the internal customers
  • supervising and coaching team members and also ensuring an efficient distribution of work and work instructions
  • assessing your team members during annual performance reviews
  • communicating with all other departments in order to optimise the overall order process
  • working together with your team on improvements: continuous improvement
  • the correct application of the export control procedure dual-use goods

your profile
In this role you will be successful if you recognise yourself in most points:

  • you are educated as a bachelor (HBO), for example in supply Chain, manufacturing engineering, or other relevant field. A completed NEVI course is an advantage
  • at least 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management, with experience in strategic sourcing, operations and demand management
  • experience in analysing operational and strategic information and determining appropriate actions or innovations within a production environment
  • you have knowledge of raw materials, distribution of goods and production processes
  • you have experience in reading technical drawings, this is a must
  • understanding of business and management principles, leadership strategies and strategic planning
  • you are used to working in a changing dynamic environment
  • experience with international conformity certificates is an asset
  • you have strong communication skills, a hands-on mentality, an open and flexible attitude and are result-oriented
  • you like to work accurately and keep a good overview
  • you are a real team player, have experience in building a team and coach your team members to improve together where necessary
  • you have an energetic and responsible entrepreneurial spirit
  • you act from the perspective of the customer as well as from the (commercial) interest of BSM
  • a good command of the Dutch and English languages, both oral and written. German and other additional language skills are an advantage
