Southern Glasgow Hospital (Scotland)
This largest hospital ever built in Europe, was designed to bring a gold-standard hospital campus to serve the West of Scotland for generations. It is estimated that each year over 110,000 patients will pass through the doors of the bespoke 14-floor building and it will house one of the largest emergency departments in Scotland.
The full installation was constructed off site to offer the client substantial labour savings on-site, which in turn gave greater flexibility to allow alternative access times for other construction services.
Kevin Butler, Divisional Managing Director for MEP Solutions Ltd commented: “We have enjoyed considerable support and professionalism from the companies within Aalberts Industries from design through to the installation. We were keen to ensure the challenges that we faced at the commencement of this project, such as commercially viable and high quality system components were met quickly and efficiently and we found that the range of products offered by the group fulfilled this objective.
Another key element for our decision in using the product range was down to its accessibility, the strict manufacturing process of services modules require a three day turn around therefore it was imperative we work with a manufacturer and distributor that could ensure product delivery.”
