Aalberts acquires Polish producer of plastic tube systems

Aalberts Industries N.V., which operates in the fields of Industrial Services and Flow Control, acquired a 100% stake in the Polish company HydroPlast Sp.z.o.o., producer of complete plastic tube systems for sanitary and central heating.

HydroPlast, with 50 employees and an annual revenue of approximately EUR 5 million, is one of the leading Polish producers of complete plastic tube systems for sanitary and heating systems. The takeover of Hydroplast, following the 51% takeover of the Polish KAN Group earlier this year, is a further strategic strengthening of the Flow Control market position.

Both the knowledge in the field of plastic tube and fitting production and the product portfolio of HydroPlast are supplementary to the plastic systems of KAN. In addition the combination of KAN's extensive sales network and the HydroPlast organisation provides a broad platform for further organic growth, not just in Eastern but also in Western Europe. Furthermore investments will be made in new production technologies for the extension of the product portfolio of HydroPlast.

The acquisition will be consolidated as of 1 November 2007 and will directly contribute to the growth of the profit. The acquisition will be financed from own resources.
