acquisition GF Flamm Metallspritz in Germany

Aalberts strengthens market position in the field of surface treatment

Aalberts Industries N.V. has reached an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of GF-Flamm-Metallspritz-GmbH (“Flamm”), active with one production facility in Moers, Germany, with an annual revenue of EUR 6 million and approximately 30 employees.

Flamm is specialised in surface treatment by means of a thermal spraying technology. Also products are treated with specialised machinery before and/or after the surface treatment in order to meet the high specification demands of customers. This technology is globally applied in many markets, such as energy, turbine, oil & gas, machine building and industry.

Flamm’s existing management will continue to lead the company and will work closely together with the management of Group Material Technology. The additional thermal spraying technology, combined with the strong network of Industrial Services’ surface treatment activities - already active at 22 locations in Europe - will further strengthen the leading market position of this activity

The acquisition will be consolidated as of 1 January 2013 and will directly contribute to the earnings per share and will be financed from existing credit facilities.
