award-winning valve

highlights

  • Aalberts integrated piping systems was the winner in the category ‘product innovation of the year’ for its ProFlow PICV valve
  • this dynamic balancing valve saves substantial time due to the unique combination of purge, valve and balancing functions
  • combined properties result in time savings of up to 70% compared to alternatives on the market

Aalberts integrated piping systems in the United Kingdom recently won the Product Innovation of the Year category at the prestigious BESA National Awards for their ProFlow 1600 PICV, a valve that is already making its mark across the industry. BESA is the UK's leading trade organisation for building engineering services contractors.

“the ProFlow brings a number of unique characteristics to the market”

integrated technologies
“We were both delighted and proud that our ProFlow 1600 PICV was recognised for its innovative qualities,” says Sindar Singh, product line director for the UK and the Middle East at Aalberts integrated piping systems. “It brings a number of unique characteristics to the market. For example, the revolutionary new Pressure Independent Control Valve (PICV) is designed to eliminate existing PICV heating and cooling system issues via new integrated technologies. At the same time, it acts as an isolation and commissioning dynamic valve in one. Because it is supplied in a bypass configuration, a setting that no other valve offers, it can be installed and flushed at full bore prior to commissioning with the PICV mechanism safely out of the way. For installers, this means tremendous time savings compared to a traditional PICV, resulting in lower costs and greater efficiency.”

many virtues
The Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) is the UK's leading trade organisation for building engineering services contractors, and to win its innovation award underscores the valve’s design, Sindar says. “The valve’s innovative design eliminates the risk of debris getting trapped during flushing and commissioning processes, reducing potential complications. We believe the Proflow PICV pushes the boundaries of valve design, and will benefit customers and suppliers for many years to come. No other product on the market matches its unique design and advanced features.”
