contract win water connections

highlights

  • Aalberts has won a four-year contract to supply water connections to De Watergroep in Belgium
  • our technical setup, including the sealing principle used in our plunger valve, helped seal the deal
  • going forward, we see additional growth opportunities across the Benelux

Aalberts has won a key four-year contract to supply water connections to De Watergroep, the largest drinking water company in the Belgian region of Flanders. The win is part of our ongoing drive to supply plastic drinking water components to water companies across the area.

technical innovation
“We are very proud to have won the contract to supply De Watergroep with 64,000 water connection packages annually over the next 4 years,” says Lars Kristian Ølstad, CEO of Isiflo, part of Aalberts. “One of the conditions attached to competing for the tender was that we receive technical approval for our new plastic valve in time. We achieved that and then won the tender, which highlights the strength of our product offering. De Watergroep have shown that they have great faith in the sealing principle used in our plunger valve, which will act as the main valve within De Watergroep's water meter set-up.”

“we believe we are only at the beginning of something truly exciting for the company”

future outlook
The award comes at an opportune moment for Aalberts, Lars explains. “The market is changing. Brass is becoming increasingly scarce, while sought-after solutions such as lead-free are often very expensive, so producing a technical plastic solution with the mechanical strength of metal is advantageous. We have already held discussions with various companies across the Benelux who have expressed an interest in our new plunger valve. So, we believe we are only at the beginning of something truly exciting for the company.”
