Nikolina joined our global Aalberts Trainee Programme in January 2020 after finishing her masters degree in industrial engineering at a German university.
From day one Nikolina had the opportunity to take ownership. Trainees make an important contribution to the company's success by steering mission critical projects and implementing their results.
"From my first trainee project on, I had the chance to take on responsibility, which was a challenge, but also gave me the opportunity to develop both professionally and personally", says Nikolina."Through the programme, I was able to learn best practices from many Aalberts plants, which I am now implementing in my role at our Kaufbeuren plant" Nikolina says.
Nikolina, as well as all other trainees, regularly present their project results to our management. Feedback sessions with her mentor accompanied Nikolina through the programme. In addition, Nikolina was able to further develop her skills through various trainings, e.g. in the areas of quality/environment, IT as well as presentation techniques. After completing her 18-month trainee programme with a total of 5 successfully closed projects, Nikolina started as project manager responsible for the automation and optimisation of manufacturing processes at the Kaufbeuren plant in our unit Aalberts surface technologies. She reports directly to the plant general manager. In this role she is able to make a contribution to the profitability but also the sustainable development of the plant.
