Isiflo, an Aalberts company, has set up a Job and Recruitment Center at its headquarters in Norway, which was recently awarded the sustainability project of the year for its significant contributions to social sustainability and community impact.
Established in partnership with the local labor office and schools, the center combines practical work experience with language training, supporting local refugees and other job seekers as they build essential skills and transition into long-term employment. Each week, around 60 participants contribute to assembling Isiflo’s essential water supply products, gaining hands-on experience that equips them for the workforce. Since 2013, the center has enabled over 400 people to secure permanent jobs, aligning with Aalberts’ dedication to sustainability and social responsibility.
The center’s efforts align with the UN's Sustainable Development Goal 8 (decent work and economic growth) by offering training and employment opportunities. Participants gain practical skills in a supportive environment, which enhances their readiness for work while building loyalty and engagement with Aalberts. The center also recently introduced a language lab," offering vocational Norwegian training to ensure a smoother integration process for newly arrived refugees.
The jury commended Isiflo's combination of social responsibility with practical, long-term solutions. Expressing his pride in receiving the award, Manager Stian Olafsen highlighted the mutual benefit of the project for both Isiflo and the community: “For Aalberts, this project is invaluable—not only do we strengthen our community by supporting individuals with challenges in finding suitable work, but we also develop a highly skilled, dedicated workforce aligned with Aalberts' culture and values."
The job center addresses Aalberts' workforce needs by cultivating a talent pool that understands the company’s operational standards and core values. By offering skills-based training, the programm reduces the company’s recruitment costs and provides employees who are well-prepared to meet Aalberts’ high standards of quality. Olafsen added, “This initiative not only gives our new team members a strong start in the workforce, but it also brings significant advantages to Aalberts by creating a steady stream of motivated and well-prepared workers.”
The Isiflo Job and Recruitment Center exemplifies Aalberts' broader vision of combining business growth with responsible community development, ensuring a sustainable future both for the company and the communities it serves.
