your challenge
The Global Director Purchasing and Sourcing is responsible for leading the purchase and sourcing functions to minimise overall cost and ensure continuity of supply while improving supplier quality, supply chain innovation and service.

You are responsible for developing, maintaining and managing the global organisational structure necessary to formulate and execute procurement strategies. You implement programs that partner with company business leaders at all levels to support company goals and policies.

This position will collaborate with multiple stakeholders including supply vendors for direct materials, indirect goods and professional services to support operations and growth. You will report to the global COO of Aalberts integrated piping systems.

your responsibilities
• own all aspects of purchasing and sourcing which includes service delivery, client satisfaction, achievement of savings targets, P&L performance as well as driving account growth opportunities
• lead and drive sourcing projects across multiple direct spend categories including but not limited to raw materials, outsourcing components, and other business functions
• manage the global IPS Purchase and Sourcing group cooperating with Directors in different countries and participate in global deals
• lead, manage and develop the best in class procurement organisation
• devise category management strategies and an annual sourcing calendar for all indirect spend categories and build consensus with client business stakeholders
• partner with other functions such as finance, legal, and governance to ensure all processes are completed in compliance with Aalberts IPS procedures
• implement a comprehensive Supplier Relationship Management program to effectively manage suppliers to maintain the highest standards for quality, delivery, innovation, and continuous improvement
• identify & execute strategic initiatives that drive innovation, value and savings to our clients while improving processes to reduce cycle time and/or cost and improve quality
• understand industry trends and growth sectors to improve the overall procurement function
• travel to manufacturing sites and vendors as required.

your qualifications and profile
Besides being attracted to the Aalberts story and our values, we ask the following requirements:
• bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field plus 10 years of progressive leadership experience in strategic sourcing and procurement across a broad set of categories, as well as project, program, and account management
• strategic Sourcing and Procurement experience within a manufacturing setting, experience with sourcing components related to our industry is preferred
• demonstrated success in managing suppliers, negotiating and managing high-value contracts
• must have strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills, including formulating partnerships with customers, suppliers and subcontractors
• proven expertise implementing and managing change across all levels of an organisation
• outstanding organisational, verbal, and written communication skills
• must have the ability to undertake many projects, effectively prioritise the workload, and meet deadlines
• analytically adept with the ability to interpret complex data for informed decision-making and to assess results
• entrepreneurial aptitude with a commitment to client service
• demonstrated ability to develop relationships, communicate effectively and influence.
