talent & learning manager
your challenge
The talent & learning manager will be involved in the creation and implementation of comprehensive Talent & Learning initiatives across the whole of Aalberts. This strategy will focus on succession planning, leadership development, learning & development and aligning talent practices with the organisation’s strategic objectives. In this role, you will closely collaborate with the chief people & culture officer as well as the people & culture directors from the technology clusters and broader people & culture Network within Aalberts.
your responsibilities
- support the development and implementation of a methodology-driven talent management framework, defining the why and how for Aalberts’ talent strategy;
- lead the organisation’s succession planning process and consolidate a Top 100 succession plan in 2025, supporting the P&C core team;
- collaborate with the people & culture network to align talent initiatives across business groups and standardise succession planning where relevant;
- capture, interpret, and present data to produce meaningful insights that guide talent and leadership strategies and support effective decision-making;
- support the development of long-term strategies to support potential implementation of a talent management system to enhance talent processes;
- support the people & culture sponsor in all leadership development programms in Aalberts (echelon 1-5): prepare communications, drive nomination process, provide input on meaningful learning interventions and design etc.;
- manage all aspects of programm communication and participant selection, ensuring that the right leaders attend the appropriate sessions;
- evaluating the programm’s impact on retention, promotions, and organisational performance to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with strategic goals;
- practical execution, including tasks such as developing PowerPoint presentations, organising workshops, and handling administrative duties;
- long term: Translate learning needs following succession planning into targeted training programms (outside of global leadership development framework), jointly with P&C Core Team.
your qualifications and profile
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organisational development, business, or a related field;
- minimum of 8 years of working experience;
- experience with project and change management;
- minimum of 3-5 years of experience in talent management, succession planning, and leadership development within a complex, matrixed organisation;
- strong collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and business units;
- good strategic thinking abilities with a high impact on driving talent initiatives that support business success, combined with a hands-on, ‘can-do’ mentality;
- experience managing vendor relationships and developing training programms that address both current and future talent needs.
