Aalberts enhances position in the defence sector

Aalberts has entered into a new multi-year agreement with Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (Kongsberg), marking a significant step in the further development of our activities within the European defence sector. Kongsberg, a key partner in the NATO defence industry, develops and supplies advanced missile systems.

Under this collaboration, Aalberts will supply high-precision launchers. These components are produced with exceptional precision, reliability and structural integrity, enabled by the mission-critical technologies and engineering expertise available across our organisation.

The five-year contract was signed at the NIDV Exhibition for Defence & Security (NEDS) in Rotterdam by Patrick de Groot, CEO Aalberts advanced mechatronics, supported by Brian Brady, director new business at Aalberts advanced mechatronics and Martijn van der Heiden, value stream director defence at Aalberts advanced mechatronics.

“This renewal of our agreement is an example of how Kongsberg collaborates with strategic suppliers to respond to the strong demand we see across NATO and allied nations,” says Erling Korvald, Director Supply Chain at Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace. “The excellent engineering expertise of Aalberts to meet our high demands is crucial for us and we are looking forward to prolong our productive partnership.”

Patrick de Groot, CEO Aalberts advanced mechatronics, highlights the importance of this partnership. “We are proud of the trust Kongsberg has placed in us. With our engineering expertise and strong production capacity in the Netherlands, we are fully prepared to support the growing demand within the defence market.”

The defence sector is undergoing rapid change. Increasing NATO requirements and rising regulatory pressures are accelerating demand for reliable European technology partners. Aalberts has precision technology and surface treatment capacity ready in eight countries in Europe and North America with more than 30 sites certified for defence production.
