Sustainability-focused companies are taking an ever-growing share of the investor and customer base, as the move towards achieving net zero emissions accelerates. In his 2021 'Letter to CEOs', Larry Fink, CEO of global investment management company BlackRock, said: "As the transition to a net zero economy accelerates, companies with a well-articulated long-term strategy, and a clear plan to address the transition to net zero, will distinguish themselves with their stakeholders."

At Aalberts, we engineer mission-critical technologies enabling a clean, smart and responsible future. To us this transition sounds as music to our ears. We believe there is no magic technology that will save the planet overnight, but we as engineers can play a vital role with our technologies to get the planet back into good shape.

In an investor sustainability session hosted on the day our annual report 2020 was published, we ensured our stakeholders understand the role we play in eco-friendly buildings and sustainable transportation with energy savings and lifetime extension and lightweight materials. We addressed the progress on our own commitments as showed in the annual report. In a great dialogue we learned about how investors view our opportunities and next steps. 

At Aalberts, we are working to achieve just such a transition. We are creating a broad range of leading sustainability solutions, benefitting all of our stakeholders. From taking a principal role in the transition towards hydrogen-powered and e-vehicles, to developing energy-saving hydronic technologies, and to establishing innovative green building solutions, we are proud to be taking the next steps towards a clean, smart and responsible future.
