energy prediction with smart thermostats

highlights

  • Aalberts hydronic flow control aims to create products which enhances the eco-friendly buildings markets
  • the Smart Thermostats create greater comfort for occupants and a drop in energy use and is therefore highly energy-efficient

Unused energy is wasted energy. And while attaining true energy efficiency is an ambitious goal, we believe it’s one worth aiming towards. We know that it involves delivering energy within a building to the right place at the right time. Yet how do you achieve this with imperfect information? And how can you anticipate occupants’ needs, instead of simply reacting to too much or too little heat?

“our Smart Thermostats can tell exactly when and where energy is needed”

smart solution
“Predicting energy demand is key for sustainable energy management. And our Smart Thermostats can tell exactly when and where energy is needed so our distribution system can manage the most efficient flow of heating or cooling,” says Emiel Woestenberg, director digital products & connectivity at Aalberts hydronic flow control.

Aalberts Smart Thermostats use artificial intelligence to learn from occupants’ behaviour and a building’s thermal inertia, enabling them to self-adjust and deliver the energy when needed, where needed. The result is greater comfort for occupants, and a drop in energy use compared to buildings that use conventional thermostats.

future benefits
But energy efficiency is not the only benefit Smart Thermostats can offer customers. In the future, we envisage this technology being able to help with building diagnostics and recommendations for improvements, by indicating when there are abnormal thermal responses.
