Flexcon: creating the most sustainable expansion vessel

Aalberts hydronic flow control launched the Flexcon Premium, the market's most sustainable expansion vessel. At the heart of the Flexcon Premium is a unique plastic membrane, made of thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO). It has a number of environmental benefits over traditional expansion vessels, including: the TPO membrane is lighter than traditional rubber membranes, needing up to 50 percent less material during manufacturing. It lasts twice as long as rubber membranes, reducing maintenance visits. This saves energy and fuel, cutting CO2 emissions. TPO can be recycled into products more effectively than rubber.


Flamco Aalberts hydronic flow control also engineered sustainability into the manufacturing process, reducing the energy required to produce the new expansion vessels. And it optimised the packaging and user manuals. Because Flamco believes that everything counts when creating a smaller ecological footprint.
